M. Eleanor ("Jack") Jackson was born in Cambridge, Mass., in 1897. She earned her B.S. in home economics from the University of Maine in 1920 and M.A. from Columbia University in 1932. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She started her career with the University of Maine Extension Service and later moved to Massachusetts where she was supervisor of home economics for Everett and Brookline schools.
